An FIR has been filed against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal. It was filed at the Indirapuram Police Station in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Many allegations have been filed against the cricketer, including sexual exploitation, physical violence, and mental harassment. The most shocking part about these allegations is that they are filed by a woman who claims to be in a five-year relationship with Yash Dayal. She blames him for abusing her under the guise of marriage and fake promises.
Background of the Story
The woman who filed the complaint alleges that she met Yash Dayal in 2019 through social media back in 2019. Like any other relationship these days, this bond also became strong after talking and engaging through social media. The woman accuses that she and Yash share a very beautiful bond and were also in a physical relationship. Yash promised that woman to marry and even introduced her to the family as a daughter-in-law. The woman was emotionally, physically and financially dependent on Yash.
She also says that during their relationship, Dayal took her to different cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, and Prayagraj. Every time she talked about getting married, Dayal told her to wait until he had things sorted with his cricket career. But recently, about a month ago, his behaviour changed. He started ignoring her, blocked her on social media, and finally said he wouldn’t marry her. When she asked him about it, she claims he hit her and physically assaulted her.
Filing the Complaint
The woman first tried to get help from the Women’s Helpline (181) on June 14, 2025, but says her complaint didn’t move forward at the local police station. Feeling hopeless, she then filed an official complaint through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s grievance portal on June 21, 2025. Since most of the time, they chat on social media, the woman shows all the chat screenshots, videos, call records, and photographs as supporting evidence to the police.
Social Media Flooded With Evidence
After several weeks with no action, things changed when she shared her experience on social media. She took to social media and posted a photo with Yash Dayal and a copy of the FIR, detailing all the allegations and tagged the UP’s Chief Minister’s office, begging for justice and intervention.
In her public statement, she said Dayal not only emotionally and physically used her but also had a relationship with other women while they were together. She explained that the repeated lies from Dayal and his family made her very mentally upset, which led to depression and even thoughts about hurting herself.
Police Action and Investigation
The FIR was officially filed at the Indirapuram police station in Ghaziabad on Sunday under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with sexual intercourse through deceit, such as making false promises of marriage. Yash Dayal, who is 27 years old, has not yet given his statement to the police. The Ghaziabad police have already taken the woman’s statement and have confirmed that a medical check-up for the victim will happen soon.
Additional Police Commissioner of Ghaziabad, Alok Priyadarshi, said the police are treating the case seriously and that Dayal is likely to be arrested soon.
Both the accused and the victim will be asked to give their statements as part of the investigation. The case has also been reported to the Chief Minister’s office, showing how seriously the authorities are taking the allegations.
Yash Dayal has not made any official statements yet, and all the cricket authorities, including RCB Management, are silent on the issue. Everyone is waiting for the police’s decision and official action.
Legal and Social Implications
The case against Yash Dayal is getting a lot of attention. People are watching it not just because it could affect his cricket career, but also because it shows how such cases are handled when famous people are involved and there are claims of sexual abuse. The FIR mentions BNS Section 69, which is a law used when someone gets consent through trickery, like making false promises, such as offering marriage. The person who filed the complaint is asking for a fair and quick investigation. She says taking action against Dayal can stop similar situations from happening to other women.
What’s Next?
The investigation is still happening, and the police are going to take statements from both the person who reported the issue and Yash Dayal. The officials have said they will carefully look at all the evidence, like digital files and statements from people who saw something. The result of the case will be based on what the investigation finds and any court actions that come next. Ghaziabad police have recorded her statement and initiated a medical examination, while Yash Dayal is yet to respond formally. The Additional Police Commissioner has confirmed that Dayal is expected to be arrested soon.
Court Update & Bail Stay (mid-July 2025)
In a significant legal development, the Allahabad High Court has granted Yash Dayal interim protection from arrest and placed a hold on any coercive action against him until further orders. The bench, noting that “one can’t be fooled for five years,” required both the state and the complainant to submit official affidavits in response. This relief follows Dayal’s petition seeking to quash the FIR under Section 69 of the BNS. Alongside directives to file detailed counter-statements, the court has listed the matter for subsequent hearings. This judicial intervention highlights the evolving legal trajectory, affirming the importance of balanced scrutiny in high-profile cases. All eyes are now on the upcoming court sessions for further clarity on bail and next steps.
